Frosted Mint Brownies

Welcome to December!  I can't believe it's here already.  We go from Thanksgiving to BOOM. Christmas.  I must say, I kind of like it, but it makes me feel a little more rushed this holiday season.  I have been craving sweets....... but with Little Two I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so I can't have sweets (or just have to enjoy them in VERY VERY limited quantities).  These gems are already packaged up and ready to send off with DH to work.  I've had a little bite.  And can I tell you that little bite was AMAZING!!!!! Ahh.  Even better than how they taste is how simple and easy they are to come together!

Just look.  Yes.  Just look.
Frosted Mint Brownies from this AMAZING site - you HAVE to check it out!!

Ingredients
1 box of brownies, prepared
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 bag milk chocolate chips (I bought semi-sweet so that's what I used)
M&M's Mint candies - you can use as many or as little as you'd like

Directions

1) Prepare brownie mix according to your package directions.  I used the store brand and they worked great for this preparation. I knew I was going to put a frosting on it, so I wasn't going to splurge on a crazy, ooey, gooey supreme box variety.  Let cool.

2) In a small pot over low heat, mix sweetened condensed milk and the bag of chocolate chips.  Stir constantly until melted and mixed through.

3) Immediately pour frosting over brownies and spread evenly. Work fast!  This sets up quickly!!

4) Sprinkle M&M's over the top of the frosting.  Gently push the M&Ms into the frosting so they stick well.  Use as many or as little as you'd like.

5) Let the frosting set up for a bit.  Then ENJOY!!

The Verdict
These are ridiculously easy and ridiculously delicious!! They make it seem like you've slaved over the stove all day, but in reality it really takes about 10 minutes of actual work. The hardest part is letting the brownies bake, then cool before you make the frosting!!

This recipe is so versatile.  You can keep it on hand for any holiday party or special occasion.  Because it's a simple brownie mix and the mint part comes from the M&M's - you can easily change out the ingredients....

Remove the M&Ms and add caramel drizzle and pecans for frosted turtle brownies.
Change out the type of M&Ms you use to coordinate with the holiday (pink for Valentine's Day or orange for October).
Love peanut butter?  Use the Peanut Butter M&M's.
The options are endless!!

YUM.  Yum.  Yum!

Keep this in your recipe box - it is a definite keeper!!

Merry Christmas from OurGreeneHome to yours!
